Derivation of the trigrams
This diagram illustrates the simple evolution of the eight trigrams from the T’ai chi ch’uan (often shortened to t’ai chi,tai chi or taiji in English usage). Taiji (literally “great pole”) is a Chinese cosmological term for the “Supreme Ultimate” state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potentiality . The t’ai chi might in a sense be compared to the vacuum energy of modern physics.
The first or lowest line is thought of in terms of the earliest stage of development; the third or top line, in terms of the latest stage of development. So there is a time dimension represented here, progressing from bottom to top. Spatial dimensions are represented by the trigrams as well. Much more about that later.
Continuing the line development pictured above to a total of six lines results in 2^6 (2 raised to the sixth power) unique 6-line figures or the sixty-four hexagrams which are thought of as a microcosm representing the entire macrocosm.
Channeling is connecting to a frequency of consciousness and translating this energy into various forms of expression. The word says it all, channeling is opening a “channel” to a frequency, much as you do when you tune into a radio station. The channelling can be expressed in thoughts, images, spoken or written words, sounds, sensations or knowing. Today, focus channeling your loving energy for someone who is in need of healing.
